Beginners Welcome!

Dr. Painter Pushes with Fire Palm

Bagua Shuaijiao

In our second seminar of 2004, Dr. Painter will present two different aspects of the Daoqiquan art. On Friday evening, August 20th, he will teach the moving step push hands game of Anzhangfa (Push Palm Art), the Li family method of free moving martial training (San Shou). This is an evolutionary step up from fixed step push hands, and does not rely on the prearranged methods often used to teach a specific response sequence. In Anzhangfa the student learns how to neutralize incoming force from a moving partner who is attempting to push or trip. The use of internal martial concepts allows the practitioners of any internal system, Taijiquan, Baguazhang or Xingyiquan to participate in a safe but highly effective learning game that is very valuable for non-violent self defense. In addition we will study a number of sensitivity training games for developing the principles of listening Jin (energy) and sensing Jin. The program is open to all players of every level.

On Saturday and Sunday, August 21st and 22nd, Dr. Painter will present the next installment of the Jiulong Baguazhang Heaven Palm (Yang Zhang) curriculum:

We highly recommend that all those wishing to advance their knowledge of Jiulong Baguazhang take advantage of this opportunity. Beginners are always welcome.
