"Everyone is standing, but nobody is going anywhere."

Since Yiquan burst on to the martial arts scene, Zhan Zhuang or "post standing" has become a buzz word in Chinese internal martial arts. Many people are doing standing exercises but do not really comprehend why or how these exercises are supposed to work or how they can be used in health, philosophical or martial applications.

Dr. John Painter has devoted 28 years to researching the methods of Master Li, Long-dao’s Xin-Quan (Mind-Intention Boxing) believed to have been derived from master Wang, Xian-Jai’s Yiquan teachings and the Daoqiquan training of the Li family. Dr. Painter has now created a program entitled Yi-Xin Gong (Skill of Intention and Attitude). Dr. Painter is convinced that this method is the master key to unlocking the secrets of mind and body control for health, martial arts, and even spiritual practice. His new method is an evolution of Yiquan and Xin-Quan that combines ancient methods with the latest physiological and psychological research.

In this program, Dr. Painter will explain the steps necessary to develop high-level internal energy. Beginning with standing meditation methods containing numerous levels of mind / body interaction, he will show you exactly how to tap into your sense memories, intention and internal feelings to lead or guide the (Qi) or life force and (Jin) or power of your body through every cell. You will learn how to move these skills into the internal art practice of your choice to produce glowing health and longevity.

Martial arts can use Yi-Xin Gong to produce whole body power with even more advanced moving exercises leading to the merging of these principles into every movement you make in your forms or combat applications. These exercises will help you develop the martial forces of anjin (pushing force) and fajin (pulsing force). Dr. Painter will de-mystify many often-confusing terms and principles from the internal classics in clear, concise, understandable language.
