The Internal Power of Song - Peng – Jin

The Power of Song-Peng Jin

Through Release We Find True Power

On Friday, November 18th, Dr. John Painter of the Daoqiquan system will present his unique perspective on the development of internal power for Chinese martial arts. This is the first of two programs to be presented in Chapel Hill; the second will take place in Spring of 2006. In this year's offering, Shifu Painter will focus on the Li family method of creating inner skill power (Nei-gong Jin) through understanding the principles of release (Song) as a path to enhancing elastic power (Peng), the core principle of martial energy (Jin).

This is a unique method developed by the Li family and can be applied to any system of martial art. This program will focus on methods of push (An) for self defense applications and will also include special exercises and applications to develop the skills of Song-Peng Jin as An.

This seminar is open to all. No prior experience is necessary.

Two Dragons At Play

Also, on Saturday and Sunday, November 19-20, Shifu Painter and Shifu Robert Castaldo will conduct a workshop on the Jiulong Baguazhang Pushing Hands game, "Two Dragons at Play". This circle-walking push hands method will help you develop a moving root, martial sensitivity, and whole body power. Saturday's program will introduce the basic concepts needed to perform this method. Sunday's program will focus on advanced aspects of the game. Because of this, Saturday's program will be open to all, but only those who attend on Saturday will be allowed to attend on Sunday -- experienced Jiulong players are the only exception.
